Key Points

  • Once your application form (next tab) is submitted, we will email you, inviting you to book an informal interview

  • The Application form includes a CV section – this can be brief (or email a copy of one you have already), but should include title of roles and organisations, dates and locations

  • Interviews are online using Microsoft Teams for an informal group conversation

  •  Successful Interviewees will be invited to a training day

  • Safeguarding forms will be sent with your invitation to training (Garda vetting and references)

  • On average it takes 4 to 8 weeks from training to complete these steps, get partnered and begin volunteering in hospital

  • References should have known you at least 2 years, and know you in a way above being a friend or family member

  • Irish Garda Vetting must be completed by CIH, even if you have been recently vetted by another organisation

  • We will need to see a Photo ID and a recent Proof of Address in person at the training day to begin your vetting

  • If you have lived outside of Ireland for more than 6 months, after the age of 16 years of age – You will need to get an international police clearance certificate from that(those) countries. Please let us know if you need help
