Support Families Like Linda & Arlo’s

Thanks to our volunteer services, we were able to schedule play volunteers to be with Arlo at a time when Linda needed extra support.

“My son, Arlo, spent the first year of his life in CHI Crumlin. CIH provided me with amazing support during this incredibly difficult time. With a toddler at home, it was hard to be with Arlo as much as I wanted to be. Arlo had a network of dedicated volunteers who got to know him and came and sat with him. As a parent, particularly in postpartum, it was a huge comfort to me that Arlo was entertained, cuddled and loved, even when I couldn’t be there.”

This festive season, why not take some time out of your day to have a tea or coffee, while helping to give parents in hospital the same opportunity?

At CIH, we strive to give parents or carers with a child in hospital an opportunity to take a break knowing their child is safe and having fun with our play volunteers.

Our volunteer and family support services for children and families wouldn’t be possible without the generosity of donors and fundraisers.

€5 – Can provide a child with a play pack during their hospital visit.
€10 – Can provide a parent with a pack of essential items (toothbrush, shower gel, hairbrush etc) when their child has been unexpectedly admitted to hospital.
€25 – Can provide a child with a volunteer play session, giving parents a chance to take a much needed break.
€50 – Can provide on-going training and support to a CIH play volunteer.

Of course! You can simply donate now or come along to support our own Coffee Morning Fundraiser in Dublin City Centre. We will be at Travelodge City Centre (D02 DY01) on December 2nd from 10 am.

Some children could spend weeks, months or years in hospital. This can be very stressful for their parents and carers who may have full time jobs and have other children at home. Our volunteers give parents a chance to take a break or attend to other duties, knowing that their child is in safe company and having fun.

Funds raised will go towards the recruitment, training and on-going support of our team of 400+ play volunteers as well as our family support team who provides information and practical support to families with a child in hospital.

Small raffles do not require a lottery license provided ticket sales and the announcement of results take place during the event and there are no cash prizes. Larger raffles, lotteries and prize draws are all governed by legislation and will be subject to a Lottery License under the Gaming and Lotteries Act, 1956. If you are unsure what legal permits or license may be required, you can contact your local Garda station for guidance.
